I have been waiting for the right time to return to my blog but it appears the name of the blog will be changed to align with the new name for the online store. I cannot tell you the new name till its confirmed and registered but i promised this journey will be detailed in my blog.

African Wax print dominates spring 2010.

Looking through the spring 2010 collections there has been a high number of collections with the use and African theme.
Both Balenciaga and Gucci showed batik-style prints in their Resort 2010 collections.

Juanjo Olivia's spring 2010 collection convinced me that african wax print is here to stay. So ladies, update your wardrobe because 2010 is going to be bright and in print.

Finally, the publication City people Fashion & Style Digest, they organised the City people 2009 Ankara Fashion show - is out. And, guess what! one of my outfits is on the cover. The one thing that kind of like spoiled the moment for me was the fact that they printed my label name wrong. On one page is was written correctly 'DIEKO' and on the other page it says 'DIERO'. I mean we waited almost 2 months for the show coverage in the magazine and then it comes out wrong. I am trying to get the label out there and they kind of almost defeated that main purpose.

Sorry i have not been able to upload more images from the fashion show. A couple of weeks ago i got a contract to make a large number of outfits using african wax prints for export. I Thought it was going to be quite easy but, boy was i wrong...it is a lot of work. There were quite a number of designs that just weren't practical to make on a large scale - cost of production increases. I am due to complete the whole contract but already completed outfits are already being sold.
I will put the pictures up maybe anyone looking to make something similar can contact me...

Night before the show ... totally knackered!

I left home as early as 6am before the environmental sanitation thingy starts to avoid delays and traffic. Got to the studio in time to work on the last and 10th dress, which was the knit top and ankara bottom dress. My seamstress and i butched up the first attempt, as its always a nightmare to remove stictches from knits, so you get it right the first time or picking the seam could cause rips and holes in the fabric. And here is also a clip of one of the dancers towards the end of the show...(dont know the name).

Now we are packed and ready for the show, all the cloths are irons and complete with belts, buttons, hook & eye etc

Then came the pattern drafting, cutting of toile and sewing. Since i was the last designer to join the show i only had a month to put together my collection for the fashion show. I changed my designs so many times ...er...my first outing. Its not easy putting yourself out there knowing that you are going to be criticised and your designs commented upon.

I have always thought about a different way of designing using other fabrics than tafetta and raw silk and cotton. Since i love knit - jersey (stretch fabric) i came up with a couple of designs or rather innovative ways of incorporating both fabric. Infact this two designs were applauded on the catwalk. The black top bit is knit fabric and the bottom is cotton ankara. The second design is knit and the motifs is from ankara with silver embroidery. I will post the actual picture off the runway as soon as i get hold of them.

Well, i met mine ...and they were...lovely girls...skinny, long...but babes! and they were sweet girls. ok my first model was sharon, very lovely girl with a great stride.

Fashion & Style Digest 2009 Ankara Fashion show

I took part in Fashion & Style Digest 2009 Ankara Fashion show on the 31st of June. I am going to document with pictures my preparation and end result, plus the newpaper and media publications as i get my hands on them.

Applying to the show organiser

I saw the ad in the city people magazine by chance as i reading a friends copy of city people. It happened to be the last day of application, but i was lucky enough to be accepted.

Then comes the shopping for Ankara to use. I went straight to Lagos market (Idumota) and couldnt find anything. Thought about going for Vlisco but at NGN13,500 -NGN 15,000 a pop, and i need to produce 10 outfit for the show. Finally i got a some from Oshodi market and was quite pleased.

Between UK and Nigeria

Now that i am almost settled in both countries (don't ask me how, but now i have a schedule that works for both). Business start up is hard and very tedious but since its mine, i have to go on despite the difficulties. At the moment, i am marketing my design business (i call custom clothing design) to get in more clients. my target group is working class, between the ages of 25 - 40. So far, i have also decided to create 5 garments to show the quality and finishing touches on each garment. Its very promising, because if there is one thing that is sure about Nigerian women is their confidence in their style. In short, they love to look good and they don't skimp on cost. But i will share this journey with you all and let you know how i am getting on (my trials and triumphs).

For one thing, i migrated to another continent entirely and settled in a new home ( it has taken some time, but were almost there). Well, this a temporary different direction for me in certain areas. I am going to be using Jersey fabrics as my clothes are getting too big since i have been on the VLCD (lipotrim) diet now. I don't think its advisable to sew using wool, and other expensive fabrics knowing that i may not be able to wear them in a couple of weeks. Think about the wasted time drafting patterns, cutting and sewing. But with Stretch, i can still wear it while i drop two dress sizes before its need adjusting...
So i am going to be making dresses, skirts and tops with stretch fabrics, and for my leisure wear i am still going to use African fabrics.

hi to all, i know i have been away for awhile. Well, lets see... took the time to finish and graduate. Well i have finally registered and due to start, at thesame time i am still working full time. But before that takes off, i'm currently working on my collection. I have been sketching like crazy and sourcing around for the right fabrics. The problem at the moment with fabrics for me is the fact that my speciality is with African fabrics or at least a mixture...
To get the Ankaras (African wax print) with nice and colourful its hard to find in the UK, even Nigerians in the UK are looking for the digital printed ones. So i have to contract that out to someone and before i confirm the ones that are in my colour scheme ( it takes forever!!) unless i travel down myself - but that increases my cost/expenses. Now! whatelse have i been up to - yes! being mommy. My daughter is a handful, its like having another pair of eyes at the back my head to catch up! that girl is everywhere - so i have taken time out to be mommy! but i have managed to workout the multi-tasking work, dream, family, blog... i think i'll cope.

Well this is not fashion or sewing related, but its very important to me that i acknowledge and in my own way show some kind of appreciation to the family of Ruth Bell Graham for heeding the calling of God, Billy Graham's wife who died yesterday at the age of 87. She was married to Billy Graham for 65 years, now that is a record for todays folks! I pray the Lord will grant her husband comfort and console her children and the whole family.
After 65 years, its hard to see each other part or one without the other, but what a friend we have in Jesus. I thank God for such a long, fruitful and generous life, they have seen millions of people through to salvation. I can't get that number out of my head - 65! Well, i guess i've got 55 to go then, i intend to beat this...God help me!

Chloe Dao - Winner of Project Runway 2

I have just checked Chloe Dao's collection and they were great. I like the fact that she mixes common sense with her designs. Personally, i cannot stand when i see designs, that you just know no one will be caught dead in it. They call it abstract, but what is the point, you can't wear it, so why spend so much time making them. Any Wuh!! i have included a couple of pictures of her design, and her website is very nice and easy to surf around...

I have been staring at the pictures of her spring collection, the short dress, are those dry lace - Naijarians will know what i mean by that... let me know what you think, they look like dry lace to me, if they truly are...she's mixed it well into collection.

This is a woman with many talents, but she still manages to keep it real. She may not be famous in Europe and US, she is based in Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia. She works with Batiks and her style is just so fluid, its freedom. I love looking at her designs and the delicate details on them. I have not been privileged yet to own any of designs but i am looking, since she is not solely based in the UK, her line is not readily available here.

She is a very beautiful woman and one thing i have noticed about her is the way she adds elegance to her designs. I just love her. She studied fashion at... none other...London College of Fashion in UK, i think in the late 80s.
I missed an exhibition or seminar she did at the Malaysian consulate (somewhere like that) some months ago, but i am still hoping she will be in the UK again and ...soon.
I know i have been showcasing African designs but then she has been one of my inspirations and i would like others to know i find her very inspiring. here are a few of her designs:

Here are a few images of projects that i will be tackling in the coming weeks, especially now that i only have one more assignment till the end of my degree. Hurrahhh!! And then it will be sewing and going to work and the baby, but at least i have more time for sewing now. So i am going on a leap here by clearing my wardrobe of clothes that i haven't worn in over a year and am going to start going through my heap of fabric stash. The thing about Mrs. Stylebook is that once the pattern has been made, i keep them in a transparent A4 pockets with closure, because i tell you right now as much as i enjoyed drafting them i wouldn't want to be drafting the same thing all over again.

I have been collecting quite a number of Mrs Stylebook sewing magazine, its the japanese one which is based on using your own pattern block. The adjustments needed to create a style is shown in miniature size. I actually found sewing this blouse very interesting, from drafting to garment construction, and now i am high on it! I took some pictures of the block drafting using the instruction given by Liana (sewintriguing), but i also drafted one using the magazine instruction and it was perfect. OK, this is the blouse i chose to start with:

This was drafting the main block using my own measurements. The sloper made is without darts, but depending on the style of what you are making the instruction shows you if there is a dart or not.

Transfered the block onto another paper, and checked the measurements for any necessary adjustments to be made.

This is after manipulating the block to create the design of the puffed sleeve blouse.

This is the sleeve, which is then traced onto another paper to get the exact size and style of the puffs to be gathered to give volume to the sleeve.

I have chosen a combination of fabric - Black linen and a red print of black cotton for the skirt (pencil skirt).

This is the neckline, the curve was a little tricky but got it in the end. Tany! what do you think?

Also, there is SIKA, a label by a British Ghanian who hasn't forgotten home. I find her designs very simple which is wearable by anyone and with each design having its own individual character, it makes accessorising appealing.

This has been one of my biggest problems, I find it very hard to pay for clothes that i can draft, design and sew - so much so that i barely buy my clothes. The downside of this is that i don't get that much time to sew as i would love to. But now i am beginning to make more time, now that my university years are behind me.

I have been checking out what will be the trend this summer without much effort, but yet very comfortable and still sexy. I was looking through the principles Noveau collection and stumbled across the MAXI trend. In Nigeria this has always been the trend for a dress down/ casual. So,i am thinking of making a number of this maxi skirts for the summer, probably unlined or with muslin type weight cotton lining.

I will be using a combination of African fabrics, linen, cotton and jersey (stretch fabric). My first project will be the Dress123 that was in Burda 05/2007

Planning my collection

Well, although i am swamped with work, i have to start thinking about my collection due for the next couple of months. I have been planning to start with at least six outfits and if time permits then 15. But all in all, i have to start sketching and trying to put my imagination to paper. And, lets not forget that its African themed, i have the various fabrics to use but not all. I have not been able to get my hands on SA traditional wax, like the nigerian wax - ankaras. The south- African traditional wax also called shwe-shwe fabric is nowhere to be found in London, and i have mailed a couple of companies in South Africa with the prospect of mail order or shipping. I don't think they even check their mails - so that is out of the question.
here are some of the Ankara that i have and hope to use, though in combination with other solid coloured fabrics.

Bongiwe Walaza

This woman is an electrical engineer by profession. She learnt dressmaking as her mother was a dressmaker and made her own clothes since she was a girl. Unhappy with her dressmaking skills, she enrolled at the Natal Technikon to hone her techniques. During that time, she was already working as an engineer for Telkom.She has a love and constant usage of the South African local fabric known as Shwe-Shwe fabric. The main manufacturer is Da Gama, to whom she also consults for. I just love her simplistic way of designing, tailoring with a mixture of local fabrics and foreign ones.

As i am learning about corsetry at the moment and i will be posting up the outcome, but i intend to make use of the skills learnt in my startup(SU). I am learning it using the corsetry DVD by laughing moon and its great, over an hours worth, i am also using the kit that comes with the simplicity 9676 - check my topic 'they've arrived' to see the kit. Catherine Walker Couture

This is a designer whose work oozes perfection. The detail on her garment are a marvel and jaw dropping. I have studied some of the garments to determine the type of fabric manipution applied, obviously the pictures are clear but its nothing compared to seeing an actual catherine walker garment. I saw the princess Diana's 'Elvis dress and Jacket' at the V & A way back in 2000 and something, when princess Diana's collection were displayed. But have a look at what i mean by Perfection to the detail. please note that all pictures belong to catherine waker, they are not mine.

Patterns on CD

Well, this something i discovered a few years ago - Leko CAD. I made a trouser using their patterns and they fit so well, it saved me time and money. The only problem is the gluing together of the papers to get the pattern. But since i am good at pattern cutting i just go with my own drafting, but do check it out.

I am looking to get the digital pattern measurement so that i can take work online. It works by uploading your picture which must be taken using a grid to which your image must fit into, then the computer uses some kind of algorithms to work out your measurement, its kind of like the bodyscanner or is bodyskanner.

Ok, i have recently been obsessed with tailoring - at the least mastering couture tailoring for active use in the industry as i am about to embark on my own business, so i thought it will be an excellent idea to brush up on the necessary skills.

While i was looking for help in this area i came across Terry Fox's DVDs on tailoring - although i think the woman talks too much - she was excellent. I have had a quick run through of the DVD and it was excellent. They were long enough to actually get the whole process. Unlike those tutorials that cover so little and charge expensively.

This DVD are a God send, because they are so good and i bet she was wearing the ones she made herself. Her collection can be seen in Harrods. She is so upbeat about it, you can tell she enjoys what she is doing. the first DVD is over an hour and the second one was about 2 hours plus. A good bargain. She doesn't look gloomy like the old sewing videos i have seen before. Its 21st century up to date with fashion type of a woman.

I have been so busy with my last year semester coursework. I dont even want to see another textbook for a long time!. It one after the other, no rest and there's work - shift work. The nightshift is not so bad, at least i get to type out my ideas in relation to my coursework when things are quiet. But the dayshift, you have to look smart and totally busy and as the only girl in my department you can be sure that whatever i am doing all of a sudden of great importance. Well, i got my corsetry kit in the post this morning. I didnt order any fabric with it, since i have a tonne of fabrics - no need for that. So, i got the simplicity pattern, plus all the bits, washers, eyelets, busk etc...
I haven't decided on fabric to use, but i think i will use calico first and once i get the garment construction right, and they have to be right. I kind of have something for corset, so i am thinking maybe my first official collection corsetry might be the main feature. But the problem which i know seem to have a solution for is that i have no clue as to making one. But i got hold of a place online and ordered the DVD of how to make one and the kit to try one out. Anyone with major interest in corsetry please give me points!!!

The models don't exactly look curvy now - for real women i mean - not tooth pick models! Fashion illustration

Illustration has always been a process of fashion design that is quite essential by todays standard. And i find it very useful and also professional, especially when the need to present portfolio arises. I did an intensive course at LARC and made sure i went through the art of fashion illustration, sketching the conventional way, but now - Thank God for technology. I got hold of the book 'From pencil to Pen tool' By Jemi Armstrong to learn this. You will require Photoshop, pentool etc.
I think its a very valuable skill to have inorder to develop one of a-kind design. I am sure any fashion design student or ever dressmaker would agree with me that sometimes you have this mage in your head, but i guarantee that this is such an easier way to get it on paper or to convey it. I am just learning it anyway - but i am able to apply my moodboard or generate my themes inline with the designs. Will post up what i come up with in future!

BHF Magazine - New Naija fashion Magazine

This is the new fashion magazine that is coming out soon and there is so much raving about the quality. I personally, am looking forward to it. What does BHF stand for really ? At last the magazine that will satisfy my appetite for Art & Design through the eyes of a Nigerian. There was some talk of another magazine by Linda Ikeji, tried to find one, but i don't think there's much of it in circulation. But as for BHF i can't wait!
Looking at how fashionable Nigerians are, we seem to have lacked the premise to show how also creative and talented we are and can be. Fingers crossed! Go BHF!!

New Career, New Image - Day 1

Since i am going to be diving into a new career, i think it is only prudent PR planning to make some attempt on myself before doing so on others. Therefore, i am going for a bit of image adjustment, nothing plastic, just a bit of weight loss, wardrobe change, stuff like that. since the most difficult for years for me has been weight loss, that the area i am going to tackle first. Not sure exactly what kind of diet to follow, as i have tried the lipotrim, SCF christian control diet is a guide i am going to continue using. And then I've got to get back to the Gym and using my Taebo tapes again.
The Fashion business is a fickle business, so although we say its all vanity. Well, looking good has never done any harm - em!! debatable!
The Lipotrim consists of 30 food packets and you have one each for your meal, when i did it , my first week i lost almost 9lbs and i looked great. Then, i travelled to Naija on family holiday and kaput!! Everywhere we went they have prepared food and this diet only way is no food, just your shake powders. Before i could say - controlled diet - 9lbs+ was riding back on my thighs.

I mean way to go Janet Jackson - if i could get to look something like that in 3 -4 months - then peopl e i have arrived! I mean from this to this, you work it out, so image change must work especially if looking good is imperative to your work. An d it is in the case of going into fashion.

I can't seem to settle down and start writing my end of year report for my university final year. Its in my head, in fact when i am seated i am writing the essay but i need to put word to paper. And i am determined to answer at least one question tonight and type it up, that way i will get into the spirit of academic world. Can't wait to get it done and dusted though!

Then, my next point of call is to start on my new collection, which means scouting for fabrics and trimmings, this will be by the end of March/April. Then i need to get the website up - though i havent even decided on a name yet.
Then there is the models to hire for design draping and so on...

I have a couple of designs that i am going to start with as soon as i am done with my coursework in two weeks, i think they are a definite addition to my wardrobe, unless i get request from outside. Then i will definitely shelf it in favour...

I find the japanese way of pattern drafting so much easier and faster. I am trying to master both methods including the japanese pattern magazine, which i order from www.japanesecentre.co.uk.
I ordered quite a number of them before christmas and now they are here. But i find the quaterly stylebook for Mrs most inspiring for casual wears.

The coat is exquisite and incredibly flattering. Made from green cashmere with a contrasting burgundy lining, it has an elegant funnel neck and skims Helen Doyle's slender figure to perfection.

Indeed, the garment fits the 31-year-old marketing executive so well, several people have commented it could have been made for her.
And that's when Helen feels rather smug, because it was. And she made it.
"When I started sewing classes I was a total beginner, but after four lessons I had made a skirt," she says.
"Now, I've made everything from knickers to jackets. You really can't beat the satisfaction of transforming a piece of flat fabric into something 3D which fits you really well.
"It's a different sense of achievement to the one you get when a presentation goes well at work.

"After a recent trip to Morocco, I made a patchwork bag out of leather I bought in a market.
"I've agreed to make a wedding dress for a friend who is getting married next year. And at the moment, I'm working on my summer wardrobe, which is great fun."

Helen is not unusual in making clothes rather than buying them.
Just when it was feared the art of sewing was dying out, DIY is the latest buzzword as fashion lovers try to bring back some individuality to their wardrobes.
"Customers are finding it harder to find exclusive clothes and so the need for individuality has pushed up the sales of dress-making materials and equipment," says a spokesman for the haberdashery department at John Lewis.

Meanwhile, in Yorkshire, such is the demand, a sewing machine shop which has been in business for more than 30 years has set up a needlework academy.
Beginners can master the art of dressmaking, with classes on everything from tailoring to lingerie making, millinery and appliquÈ.
So why are we reverting to the traditional skills we spurned at school? (Did anyone actually finish their soft toy, petticoat or apron?)
Is it a sign our love affair with cheap, fast fashion is on the wane and a desire for individuality is returning to centre stage?

There is certainly a move away from wanting to look like everyone else. TopShop has been quick to pick up on the DIY revival by running craft workshops at its flagship store in London's Oxford Street.
Customising is popular with teenage girls, who are getting creative with their High Street buys so they stand out from the crowd.
For women like Helen, dressmaking is also the perfect way to unwind after a stressful day at work.
"I wanted something practical to do at home rather than just going out all the time," she says.
"First, I took a City & Guilds evening course in lingerie design. Then I got in touch with Imtaz Khaliq, who runs one-to-one bespoke tailoring classes at her studio in Dalston, North London.
"I didn't sew at school, so I was a total beginner, but Imtaz taught me how to make my own patterns.
"I'm not the best seamstress in the world, but with a machine you can do anything."

Imtaz is not surprised her classes are increasingly popular with City traders and high-fliers like Helen.
"Lots of jobs can be stifling with no outlet for creativity, so women are coming to me to get away from all that," she says.
"My studio doesn't feel like the sewing classes at school or college. It's relaxed and they get results very quickly.
"I've taught a whole range of women, from housewives who have given up highprofile careers to focus on more homely things to City career women who want to learn how to make something for themselves.
"Most tell me their mothers used to sew, but were too keen on them having a career to teach them. "But the tide is turning. Sewing isn't just about darning socks or making soft toys; it can be a form of expression, an outlet for the stresses of the working day. Recently, two colleagues came along from an advertising agency.

"They wanted to make funky skirts, which they did. But they also enjoyed the social side to sewing.
"They found it relaxing to come here after work to sit and chat while producing something amazing at the end of it. You can't beat wearing a garment which has been tailored to you."

Opera singer Juliette Pochin got interested in dressmaking out of practical necessity. As a performer, she is in constant need of concert dresses and so childhood experiments with skirts and tops graduated to evening gowns. Friends nicknamed her "the domestic diva".
Earlier this year, the 32-year-old mother from South London was signed up by Sony BMG in a £1 million record deal, but old habits die hard.
"For the launch of my debut album Venezia, I was given a designer dress by Bellville Sassoon to wear," she says.
"It's really beautiful, but I was taken aback by how much it cost. The most I'd ever spent on a concert dress before was £80.
"My great find is Rolls & Rems in Lewisham, South-East London, which is stacked from floor to ceiling with fabric. You have to rummage because there's everything from pink fur to faux leather, but I've found some incredible stuff."
Juliette's spare bedroom is devoted to her hobby, and her latest creation on the tailor's dummy is awaiting a few final touches.
"It's a strapless number in a greeny-blue silk chiffon with a fitted bodice which flares from the knee," she says.
"I'm going to wear it when I'm on tour this summer, so I've got to get it finished.
"A dress like that will take a few weeks to make, especially as I only have time to do it at night when my daughter is in bed. But it will cost just £60.
"My mum is helping me to finish it off by making some tiny flowers to go in a diagonal line along the bodice.
"My pride and joy is my shiny new sewing machine, which I got for my birthday.
"I have given my old one to a friend, which inspired her to go to evening classes. She's now made two skirts and a summer dress."
Never one to shy away from a challenge, Juliette even bones her evening gowns.
"My mum taught me how to do it and now I've done a few corset styles, I adapt them to suit," she says.

But sewing for the 21st-century woman need not mean poring over pattern books or even learning how to hem, insists Eithne Farry, author of the new book Yeah, I Made It Myself (Weidenfeld & Nicolson, £10). Instead, she espouses the art of what she calls 'no sew sewing'.
Total beginners can run up a simple skirt without even knowing how to put in a zip or fix a waistban.
"As I've learned, you don't have to be brilliant at sewing to make something really special," says Eithne. "I was hopeless at needlework at school, but through trial and error I can now make everything from a dress to a coat. You can make a basic summer wardrobe with minimum skill."
Eithne's favourite dress was made from a pair of curtains which used to grace a holiday caravan in Margate.
"It sounds like a scene from the The Sound Of Music, but the material cost only £2.50 and I fell in love at first sight with the pattern," she says.
Despite its humble origins, the end result is eye-catching and unique. And the colourful Jackie O style shift is just one of dozens of unique handmade dresses hanging in Eithne's wardrobe.

Emily Wright, 29, from York, is a self-taught dressmaker.
"I learned how to do it by taking apart skirts, jackets and coats and seeing how they were made," she says.
"I've never used patterns, so it's been a process of trial and error and I have to admit some things are not perfect.
"But that adds to the character of a piece. Last summer, I made a long silver skirt, which I wore so much it got all bobbly.
"My favourite skirt this year is two-tone in blue and red, which hangs from the hips.
"The skirts I make myself fit much better and are far more flattering than shop ones.
"My favourite place in the world is the Goldhawk Road in Shepherd's Bush, West London. There are four fabric shops there which sell amazing stuff from as little as £3 a metre."
Eithne, Emily and an army of trendy dressmakers are boosting an industry that has long been in decline. Fabric shops are springing up in our towns and cities.
Eithne's favourite is Fabrics Galore in Battersea, South-West London. Another new dressmaking boutique is Fabric 205 in East Dulwich, South-East London.

Anita Armitage-Joyce runs a successful mail order business from her shop Fine Fabrics Of Harrogate, sending out material to women all over Britain.
She started her own business a few years ago when her former employer closed down the haberdashery department where she worked to focus on interiors and gifts.
A passionate dressmaker, Anita snapped up the stock and set up her own shop.
She now has an academy room at the back of the shop, complete with sewing machines and tailor's dummies, where two colleagues run back-to-basics courses and more advanced lessons on tailoring and trouser-making.
"When I was young, women made things out of necessity," says Anita.
"Then, as we moved into the workforce, there was no longer enough time to make things and clothes were available on the High Street at much cheaper prices.
"But I am noticing a sea change. Dressmaking is coming up from the younger generation. Many of my customers are professional women who regard sewing as a pleasurable past-time.
"I'm also pleased to say that several of the schools in my area are starting to teach dressmaking again.

"But instead of boring aprons, they are creating ball-gowns. That's the inspirational part of sewing - you just can't beat it."

Well, i have since discovered that Japanese pattern books feature more recent styles than the western ones, and i want to give it a go. But it is virtually impossible to order online directly when i can't speak one word of japanese.
